I have a question. Can an online channel support mixed modes of delivery at checkout?
E.g. - a specific furniture product does not ship to California or Alaska. Since this is item specific, I configured two modes of delivery to satisfy this need -- one mode of delivery allows all products to ship to all 50 U.S. states but excludes the one furniture product. The other mode of delivery is applied to only one product and is configured to ship to all US states except California and Alaska.
During testing I noticed that, if a customer add this furtniture product with additional products, they are currently unable to select a delivery method that works for the order at checkout. The error message reads something like the below: Therefore, I wonder if eCommerce can support mixed modes of delivery. That way, a customer can specify which mode of delivery they would like to apply to each line item.
Looks like it is not supported at the moment. You have may have to extend to create a function like the "Pick This up" option you see on the cart.
Dynamics 365 supports having lines with Pick up and shipping in the same order. When you pick up an item in-store, you have the option to select multiple pick-up methods in the same store. However, for shipping (in your case), there is no option to select the shipping method at the line level. The shipping method for non-pick-up lines(deliveries) is selected at the checkout for the whole order.
