Having trouble with company code in opportunity creating

I am having trouble creating opportunity in my sales app because the company field is required. On the company field, the company code is set to required but I have no way of entering that code. If i try to delete the company name from the opportunity form, it does not work because it is a managed entity.

Can somebody point me to the right direction.  How can i get around the company code or auto generate that  code as i list companies?

In system customization, open entity> opportunity> field and what is the target company field?

You can select "optional" or "required" in "Field requirements".
