Hello,
Brand new in using GP, I was wondering if somebody could tell me how to enter hours associated with a payroll account. I would like to evaluate the FTE for each department in GP but I am unsure about the set-up.

Are you trying to enter hours for a salaried employee? GP will hit the payroll posting accounts based on position, department and pay code. You set up the posting accounts by going to Tools->Setup->Posting->Payroll Accounts. The department and position get setup per employee and then you assign pay codes to employees. I would start by reading Chapter One of the USA Payroll manual. You can find this by clicking on the question mark in the upper right-hand corner and then Printable Manuals and then Payroll.
