    Hello Jasdeep Singh,

I would recommend having a look at this post, which explains the thing with the base periods nicely.

    www.instructorbrandon.com/.../

    Base Period

Period is a setting that looks at your source system setup and refers to it. Period 8, under this calendar, would be August. What makes Base Period and Base Year exceptional is that you can run a report over them right before the report is rendered and it is not saved within the report definition.

    Base Year

Year also looks at the years and lets you run a report against one of the years

    Default Base Period

These become very helpful when you autorun reports, such as emailing reports to people. You can tell the report to always run on the current system date (the date on the computer) or to run against the current open period in the Dynamics system minus or plus some number, for example. In other words, you make a report that you don’t want to have to mess with.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

    Thanks for the reply.

I get the concepts you have explained about the same, but the issue I am getting when I am generating Trial Balance report. The data in reports is not matching with the data in AX Trial balance under GL Module.

I am specifying Base period 1 and year 2020..means I am fetching data for April 2019(since fiscal year is from April to March) but its not matching with real data in AX. What could be the reason behind it?  Please help.

    Good morning Jasdeep,

There can be a couple of reasons if the MR data and the AX data don't match. Please check the following:

    - Have you applied filters somewhere?

    - Can you quickly create a simple MR report and compare if this new report gives you the right outcome?

    - Is it possible that the MR data mart has not been updated and has old and inconsistent data inside? If this is the case then you have to reset the MR datamart to get this fixed.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
