How many people are still using GP version 6.0 and under?

In light of the challenges of incompatibility between Vista and 7 with GP versions 6.0 and under, I am interested in knowing how many people are still using these versions.

Also, if still using one of the older versions, are there plans to upgrade or migrate soon?

    Shawn,

I have one Customer on GP5, one on GP5.5, Two on GP6, Two on GP7.5.

The GP5 & GP5.5, are old satellite sites from the main site, being trying to get them merged, but very slow as you can see.

Both GP6 use limited functionality and very small Db's, no intention on changing, Hardware very old.

One of the GP7.5 is looking at upgrading this Year, the other had the company split into smaller bits, so funding would be a big issue.

I always like the challenge when dealing with problems on these versions, makes you appreciate the changes and improvements over the years.

    Regards,

    Mick

The oldest version any of my clients are on is 7.5, with an upgrade to 2010 planned for the second half of this year.

    Hi Sean,

No company I work with is using GP6 (Great Plains Dynamics eEnterprise?) or under. Our last upgrade from version 6 was straight to version 10 about a year ago, along with a migration from Pervasive SQL / Btrieve to MSSQL.

I would be surprised if there are many organisations with a current enhancement plan, who are still operating version 6. If they are, its a fair bet that operating systems / hardware are also probably a bit behind.

But its an interesting question and hopefully users will respond.

    Ian.
