Quantity for Serial Numbered Items in a Purchase Order

Hi:

Is there a way to have Business Central automatically enter a default quantity upon processing each serial numbered item in a purchase order?

It's one thing to have to enter a quantity for one for, say, two line items.  But, if you have a hundred, that could be a chore.

Thank you!

John

    Johnellis2019,

Hello. I am not following your question. If I had a Serialized Item, with a Quantity of 1 or more, each Serialized Item MUST be entered separately into the Item Tracking Lines. For example, if I had a Quantity of 5, you would see 5 Serial Numbers (rows) on the Item Tracking Lines (see below). If not you would receive an error message "Validation Results Quantity (Base) must be -1, 0 or 1 when Serial No. is stated."

Are you sure you are talking about a Lot Number, which can include multiple quantities for a single Lot Number?

    Thank you,

    Steve

No, I am 100% talking about serial numbers.  And, the end user is asking for a more streamlined approach, hence, my question.

    Hello,

I know of no other way to enter each item, with a unique serial number and faster than one-by-one during the receiving process. I will throw this option out their... Maybe you can work with your Partner to create an Import spreadsheet of Serial Numbers in mass upload that populates the related Item Tracking Lines for the specific Purchase Order. Since I do not know your exact Receiving process, it is just a thought thinking out-of-the-box.
