Download all attachments of an entity as a ZIP file

We have requirement to download all the attachments of an custom entity into a zip file, on click of ribbon button.

What are the available options here?

1. Do we have any third party libraries available for this

2. If custom code then, as plugin has 2min timeout, does that have any effect of the attachments file size?? size of all attachments could vary from 10 MB to 50MB also..

We are using CRM 365 Online version..

Any help greatly appreciated!

    Hello,

    You won't be able to do that with a plugin or workflow (except if you push this to a sharepoint related instance).

    I would go for a call to a webservice which will take care of the retrieve of the attachments and then package it and retrieve the zip file as result.

    Not tested but that's just an idea

    You can build a console application that will download all attachments and then zip them up.

    You would retrieve all the attachments in a collection, and download each one independently and store it on the file system. You will then zip all file using the System.IO.Compression.ZipFile class:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../system.io.compression.zipfile

    You can then go ahead and delete the origiginal files.
