How to update the S2S Certificate on a CRM 365 On Prem environment using Exchange Online

Hello.  Our S2S Certificate used for our CRM 365 On Prem environment expires soon, and we have an updated SSL Certificate we need to switch it out with.  We have a Test and Production CRM environment, both connecting to the same Exchange Online server, but if we switch it out in Staging will this break Prod?  I wasn't sure if Exchange Online used a different certificate with each CRM Environment or if only one S2S Certificate was used for both.  Also does anyone have the process documented or know how to change this certificate? I have our documentation from when we setup the S2S certificate, but I'm unsure which portions I need to go through again just to replace the S2S Certificate.  And I need to verify we can update Staging without affecting Production.

Thanks.

These are not applicable to what I asked.  My question is specific to S2S in CRM 365 On Prem and Exchange Online.  I first need to verify Exchange Online uses a separate S2S Certificate per environment so I know if updating Test will break Production.  When we setup our environment it was using the same certificate on both Test and Prod, but now if we upgrade Test I need to verify it won't break Prod.  And second I need to just have steps to add the new S2S Certificate, none of my notes and no website I've found seems to cover this which is strange since I'd think anyone using CRM 365 on Prem and Exchange Online (which can't be that uncommon of a setup) would need to do every year or so as their certificates expire.

    Hi Sam Alex,
I came across your post and was very excited as this is the exact situation we are in now.

I believe changing the certificate in the lower environment will affect the production environment, but am not certain.
    I was planning on following:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/admin/connect-dynamics-365-on-premises-exchange-online

with the new certificate, I think it will have the affect of updating the new certificate.

I would appreciate it if you could let me know your experience and how you ended up getting it to work.

    Thanks,
    Justin
