Ribbon not updated in production environment

Hello

 

This is my problem :

 - I have a development environment in which I use the ribbon workbench.

 - I modify the ribbon and export it to a managed solution.

 - Since July (solution updated to 8.2), I can't update the production anymore.

 - I import by checking "replace customization" but it doesn't work.

 - The only solution today to overcome this problem : make the changes directly in prod.

 - I don't have another instance concerned with this problem.

 

Actions done:

 - I cleaned ribbons: KO

 - I sent in an unmanaged solution: KO

 - I cleaned directly in prod and reimport from the dev: KO

 - I created a new entity with a specific ribbon : OK

    Hi BCI.fr,

    according to my experience these problem are caused by different guids over two environment.

    It is an hard work to make things "works" like you want.

    If you can you could try to delete all the entities involved and re-import them from dev environment to prod.

    I had a similar support ticket with Microsoft (which was unresolved), which basically was replacing certain customizations on the email entity. The issue was when you make a particular customization and try to replace it, it didn't make those changes after the first time they were deployed in the managed solution.

    Since no resolution was possibly for us, we reverted our original customization (since this was only a patch we could do it), removed the changes from the entity and published a fresh customizations.

    I am not sure if this is the issue that you are experiencing, but seems like there is an issue overriding ribbon customizations with managed solution.
