Microsoft Dynamics RMS (Archived)

RMS, Windows 7 and SCCM 2012

Posted on by 30

Hi all,

At the moment we are in the process of updating our operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 7, at the same time we about to roll out RMS 2.0 to some of our clients.

For deploying our windows 7 OS we are using SCCM 2012 and we are trying to install RMS 2.0 as part of a zero touch or almost zero touch deployment.

I have managed to install SQL 2008 Express and the 2005 backward compatibility tool but now I'm stuck at tying to install Store Ops.

Has anyone ever done this or have any tips of deploying RMS using SCCM?

Any help on this would be good.

Cheers

Conal

have you tried automating the msi installed in the SO directory.

Also you could build a autohotkey or autoit script that passes the necessary key presses to the rms setup program.

Just be aware that the installer doesn't setup all the necessary parameters, like edc information, register number, db connectino settings, etc.  These would have to improted into the registry or hotkey scripted like the installer.
