Dynamics CRM Online (9.2) to CRM On-Premise (9.1)

Hi all,

we need to go back to the on-premise CRM from an online CRM 365.

Is it possible to make a backup of the online organization and resore it on-premise?
Alternatively, to avoid doing everything from scratch, is it possible to export all the solutions from 9.2 and re-import them on the on-premise version 9.1?

Thanks in advance,
Regards.

Alfred

I can quite confidently say the the answer to this no, and you will have to resort to either manually moving your data or using a 3rd party migration tool to do the job.
Simply put, you have never, as far as I'm aware been able to import an CRM organization database with higher version into a deployment version which is lower, and that just the first hurdle...
Then you have all the solutions deployed to the orginization that are specifically tailored for online( ms cloud)..
And If you are still one of those around administrating an CRM on-premise SKU by this time, you have might have noticed various "errors" relateded to ms cloud inspecting the server logfiles, cloudstorage *cough*.
So yeah, even the current 9.1 update 1.23 on-premise package have its and bits of issues, which I can only relate to it being a branch on the online SKU and sadly doesn't get the quality control it deserves.

So to rap this up, I'm pretty sure that than even if you were to get hold of your 9.2(online) DB and tricked it to be able to import into to your 9.1 on-premise deployment, there is just too many "online" mandatory dependencies in that 9.2 organization database that you never get it to load anyways.
Online and On-premise SKU is just that far apart at this point.

    Best regards.
    Philip
