How can I restrict cashiers from entering quantities that are NOT whole numbers?

I allow cashiers to manipulate quantity field but they should not be able to sell 0.5 items of anything for example. They would in effect be giving a 50% discount!

I believe you would have to write a small program for that.

It is proper accounting to do returns as separate transactions, which would give you an add-on free methodology.

This is what the big dogs do. First do the return. Then sell the new item.

The reason companies like Macy's do this is to reduce shrinkage.

The Retail Realm Store Utility has an option that allows you to restrict on what grouping of items you allow fraction entry as part of quantity and what item groups you do not. Contact me for more info.

Do Not allow your cashiers to change the quantity field. This can be blocked by setting of the security within RMS.

They can enter any numbers, even decimals, if they are allowed.
