Error Generate Number Sequence

Hi All,

I got this error when generate number sequence "The highest number for number sequence Bank_107, Positive pay number has been decreased from its default value to match the length of the data type BankPositivePayId".

Could anybody suggest the resolution about this error?

Hi Masha,

I think, I found the reason. The number sequence it trying to generate numbers based on a maximum number and the company segment.

When the max number is set to e.g. '999999', it will try to generate a number sequence e.g. "NLMF-999999". This will be 11 characters. When the data type has only 10 characters, it will give a warning and cut off on 10 characters. Then it becomes "NLMF-99999".

You can ignore the information and continue generating the numbers. However, please review if all proposals are correct as it is quite easy to get duplicated voucher numbers using the wizard.

Hi Masha,

There are several steps in the number sequence wizard:

- Starting the wizard

- Editing the proposed number sequences

- Completing the task.

At what exact step do you get this error? Do you have some manual overrides? Do you have customizations or ISV solutions installed?

Have you tried to update / modify the system defined number sequence?

For example; in below number sequence Acco_100; the smallest, largest and next number is already set by system itself.
