Hi All ,

In Ax 2012 , we have the services and batch job .

Could any one explain the difference between these two functionality?

In which scenario we will use services and batch job ?

You'll use a batch job if you want to run the functionality on schedule. You'll use a service if you want it to run on a request from another application.

You can implement your logic using the SysOperation framework and run it synchronously, asynchronously, in batch and expose it as a service, if you like, all using the same implementation.

Thanks for the reply,

As i have noticed that we have many services in out-of box Ax 2012 , do we need to create seperate batch job service wise ?

Example : Ledger journal service - Batch job A

Import contacts - Batch Job B

............................

or only one batch job is required for all the services ?
