Setting Record status Based on user

i want to set if user is x then the status should be active if not it should be inactive is this done by javascript

    Hi,

     You can use a workflow to change record status.

     Although, I am not sure what you are trying to do. Do you want to deactivate users? Or is it about the records owned by your users?
