AX 2012: Department Financial Dimension

Hello everybody,

So I know that D365 stores the Department financial dimension value on the Position. However, in AX 2012 I don't see it there. Is there a field for this in AX 2012?

If so, what table is this field in?

    Hi

In AX 2012, Department is not a direct field on Position. It’s stored via DefaultDimension, which links to DimensionAttributeValueSet.

That table does not have the Department value:

We have an issue with 2 employees that within their financial dimensions the department value is blank, but within the worker list page/table it shows a value. I need to find the table name in order to remove the department value from the back end.

    Hi,

If you want to modify Department dimension on Homeworker, check the following code, it updates cost center financial dimension in invent Table:

    Hi,

In case you are referring to the financial department dimension, then this is stored in several tables building up dimension set combinations with their values. You can download a whitepaper that explains the data model. https://download.microsoft.com/download/4/E/3/4E36B655-568E-4D4A-B161-152B28BAAF30/Implementing_the_Account_and_Financial_Dimensions_Framework_AX2012.pdf

Using this whitepaper, you can find the table.
