Open transactions in Item Ledger Entry after using Explode Assembly BOM

Posted on by 189

HI!

I have an issue in NAV 2018 that I hope someone can help me with.

I am currently conducting tests to see if we can make a return order on an assembly item and use the Explode Assembly BOMs-function to break out the components from the assembly item. It works just fine until I check the Item Ledger Entries which has arisen due to the return order. It suggests that the transactions that have been created due to the return order are open. What I don't understand is that everything that the customer had to deliver back has been delivered by the customer and received by the company. Does anyone know why it says that the remaining quantity is 1 and therefore open?

Please see the attached image for reference, I know that it's not in english but I just want to illustrate that the three transactions that are a result after using the Explode Assembly BOMs-fuction are marked as open.

I hope you understand my question!

Best regards,

    Hi

Your answer makes so much sense, thank you!

I just assumed that the transactions would show as closed since everything was posted.

    Best regards,

    Eva

    Eva,

If I understand you correctly you did a Sales Return Order for an Assembly Item and click Explode Assembly BOM so the components show vs Assembled Item. You posted the Sales Return Order and added the components back into Inventory. This entry increased the component quantity by the 1 and that ILE layer will show Open.

The above is correct. What did you expect returning an Item to inventory?

    Thanks,

    Steve
