Setting Default View

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I was originally showing Products in Parent Price list updated.  But I want to set another view as default.

This script doesnt seem to do anything.

Xrm.Page.getControl("name").setDefaultView("{GUID}");

At this point, I'm totally stumped, can someone provide some feedback?

Thanks in advance!!!

    hello. I've managed to un-gray the default view drop-down list so that at least now, manually, can choose a different one than the default "products in parent price list updated" view. my issue was related to the "opportunity product" entity for "Existing product" a.k.a "productid" field. is this answering your need? :)

     I retrieved the default view id for the lookup field "productid" and it is showing the correct guid for the view I want but defaults to another view.

    I checked this link (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3154952) out and it says

    • Quote Product, Order Product, and Invoice Product Forms are updated.

    Does anyone know if this is a problem and what changes there were?

    The 'Existing Product' lookup shows the Default view as another view but when I open the lookup, the default view is showing the other one!

    Hi tekwise,

    Please try to set it on some custom entity. May be MS CRM system doesn't allow setting on Product entity.

    Hmmm........I was able to get it to create the custom view and even added the 1 as suggested by one of the posters before and it does not make it default.

    When you want to add existing products in an order line item grid, it takes you to 'Price List Item' and not product lookup. it seems you have done some customization. Can you tell us about it?
