I received this query from a prospective client. We do not do much with Dynamics and i am hoping that we can guide him to the right support and get a solution.
these guys operate a first aid training company
We’ve had an ongoing issue with Microsoft sync between our Dynamics 365 environment and Office 365 for over 6 months now. Microsoft have put 3 teams of Devs on this issue which have not helped this issue in the least. Seamus asked me to reach out to you and see whether you may be able to help us resolve this through the MS partner network…?
The issue is hen we create an appointment in Dynamics or Outlook, the appointments do not sync either way. This means that Michael creates bookings in Dynamics for training clients and has to then manually recreate the appointments in Outlook in order to schedule resources. He does this several times a day which eats up a chunk of his time having to manually recreate a sync that should be automatically creating these as a basic functionality of the system.
After 6 months working with 3 dev teams and countless solutions, we are nowhere closer to resolving this issue, and were hoping as a Microsoft partner you could point us in the right direction!
We are not expecting you to solve this issue, Seelan has a great understanding of our system at this stage.
He has been working hard with several MS techs for months, who have unfortunately have not got to the root cause.
This is unlike previous sync failures, where I could solve it with MS tech support in several days.
At this stage I am reaching out to you to see what is the next action we can do with MS?
Is there a higher level of customer support you can access?
The fact that all of the tech support have been unable to resolve a key feature of the system in over 6mths if very frustrating.
Well we’re not trying to achieve much what we want is the basic OOB functionality to work. In Dynamics when you create an appointment it’s supposed to automatically sync the created appointment with Outlook thus allowing you to view the appointment record in both Dynamics and Outlook. This has worked for STAC for the past 10 years. Last year the issue started where the appointments would sync 3 days later, now they have stopped syncing entirely. This is not a shared calendar issue, this is a server side sync issue. We have dealt with support from the Dynamics end and from the Office 365 end.
