Activity Tracking for Extended Pricing

Hi All,

Question - does the native activity tracking in Dynamics GP cover changes made in extended pricing?

I ask because i have users that are constantly deleting the sheet my mistake but i am unable to see who did it in the activity tracking table. I tried doing it intentionally and nothing was added to the activity tracking log. Am i missing something?

RE: Activity Tracking for Extended Pricing

The default Activity Tracking in Dynamics GP has 5 different types:

    1. Login/Logout Tracking - failed attempts to login as well as successful/failed attempts to login in and out.

    2. Access Tracking - failed attempts to access a file, open a window and print a report, as well as attempts to open Modifier or Report Writer and attempts to execute a stored procedure.

    3. File Tracking - additons/deletions and modifications to and from Master files, Setup files, trx files

    4. Process Tracking - file maintenance, Routines and Utilities processes.

    5. Posting Tracking - this tracks various posting processes form the core series: Sales, Financial, Inventory, Project, Purchasing, etc. Specific to Sales is Receivables Sales Entry, Receivables Cash Receipts, Invoice Entry, Sales Trx, Sales Voided Trx, and Sales Deposits.

From what I could see, with everything marked, enabling extended pricing didn't seem to write anything to the activity tracking, so you may want to consider alternative options such as what David mentioned.

    Thanks,

Sounds like it was never coded to record into Activity Tracking.

GP Power Tools can be used to track deletions and record who and when.

You could also prevent them being deleted by adding a password to the delete button.

Just two triggers in GP Power Tools.

FYI: Field Level Security could also add a password to the Delete button.
