Filter Items List in Purchase Requisition Lines by Procurement Categories

Hi there, I'm investigating an issue in Dynamics 365 Purchase Requisitions where every Item that is part of a Category Hierarchy is appearing on the list of Items on a Purchase Requisition Line. My goal is to only display Items on a Purchase Requisition Line that are specifically added to a Procurement Category Hierarchy.

Here are some screenshots of relevant settings in our environment:
Procurement category hierarchy is set to CORP PROCUREMENT CATEGORIES
Sales category hierarchy is set to Market Segment

CORP PROCUREMENT CATEGORIES and Market Segment Categories defined here.

Here is an example of products assigned to a node inside the CORP PROCUREMENT CATEGORIES Category.

As a result of being included in the CORP PROCUREMENT CATEGORIES Category Hierarchy, this Item now displays in the list on a Purchase Requisition Line. This is as expected.

However, the issue comes with products assigned in the Market Segment Category Hierarchy also displaying in the list of Items on a Purchase Requisition Line.
Here is an example of product assigned to a node inside the Market Segment Category.

As a result of being included in the Market Segment Category Hierarchy, this Item now displays on a Purchase Requisition Line. This is NOT as expected. The goal is to filter out this Item in the list on a Purchase Requisition Line.

An attempted solution was to use Purchasing policies - Category access policy rule to only allow access to Procurement Categories to the user entering a Purchase Requisition Line.
As a result, the list of Procurement Categories displayed on a Purchase Requisition Line have been filtered to the ones selected in the Category access policy rule, HOWEVER, this does not subsequently filter the list of Items by only products assigned to those Categories.

Please let me know if I can further clarify the problem. Any suggestions to solve this issue are appreciated.

    Hy ML*,

did you ever work with procuremenmt catalog, this seems to be an option to adjust what is offered in the PR.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you andreasraithel, that is exactly what I needed. Creating a Procurement Catalog, and then adding a Catalog policy rule to the Purchasing policy created the expected result of filtering the list of Items on a Purchase Requisition Line by those shown in the Procurement Catalog.

    Cheers!
