Why GP doesn't have a transaction create date?
For one my reporting purpose, i need to find when the invoices are created in GP. I am using the tables PM20000 and PM30200. I used the posted date (POSTEDDT) but found it keeps changing. Dex_Row_TS also changes as record changed. Does GP store the Transaction Create Date in any tables?
Any comment will be appreciated.

Hi Bab,
The Document Date (DOCDATE) in the PM20000/PM30200 tables will generally be the date the transaction was created in Dynamics GP if the end user doesn't edit the date before saving and/or the Dynamics GP date on the lower left-hand corner of the program is valid and not set to an alternate date when the document is created.
In such case you are correct that the DEX_ROW_TS field is the next best place to look for such a date but as it does increment every time the document is edited in some manner the field content may not reflect the correct creation date (the system time/date may not be accurate as well if altered in any manner prior to processing).
As Dynamics GP is designed to be flexible to the end-user as possible, there is not an option to 'lock-down' the date in initial entry in default security options; but you can design the security specific to the environment to limit date access and/or change accordingly.

Can end user edit the Document Date after the transaction is posted or paid or once it hits the PM20000/PM30200 tables?
I dont think so but just want to confirm. I am looking for some date that doesn't get changed once the transaction is created.

Document Date cannot be changed. Document Date is the real invoice date from the Vendor. What Versions of GP do you have?
Dex_Row_TS is when the record the is created in the table. There is a new field now in GP called Invoice Receipt Date. Do you have that in your table?
