What to do if report data source does not contain some field ?

ReportReport
Posted on by 596
Hi guys,

In Store Transactions (Retail&Commerce / Inquiry& reports/), when open the existing report (Report name: RetailTransactions), while the data source is RetailTransactionTable, I found some field is not appeared in Report designer ->

I want to include field named : ISTAXINCLUDEDINPRICE

May I know how to do this ? And why actually this field is not displayed in Select Query window?

And is it correct to say, the existing report is wrong, because the total amount does not consider if the amount price is Include tax ? so it has the formula of NetAmount + Tax Amount, while netAmount is already include Tax.

Thanks,
I have the same question (0)

Hi, Its not possible to change standard report (even adding existing field). You have to duplicate report. Check this article.

    Hi Voltes,

In the RetailTransactions query - You can see that under RetailsTransaction DataSource property - Dynamics field is set to No. So, they have added only the required fields from the RetailTransactions table. In that case they didn't add 'ISTAXINCLUDEDINPRICE' is not added. So that's why it's not showing in the report select query window.
One option will be extending the query - Under RetailsTransactions DataSource >> Add a new field and map the 'ISTAXINCLUDEDINPRICE'.
For the report you need to duplicate the report and develop your own custom report. If you duplicated, you have option to select a 'ISTAXINCLUDEDINPRICE' field.
After duplicating you can extend the output menu item and mention your custom report as an object.

    Thanks,
    Girish S.

You need to create query extension for 'RetailTransactions' Query and add IsTaxIncludedInPrice field. Note that if you can't drag and drop the field then right click on fields and click on New Field.

I forgot to reply to the last question you asked.
So, coming to that I cannot conclude that standard existing report is wrong. It's a direct report as they are using the query and does not include any background calculations.
So, it will be better to duplicate the report and do changes as you want.

    Thanks,
    Girish S.
