We are trying to implement Engineering Change Management Module in Dynamics 365 F&O.
During our exploration, we are able to release new versions for Products and Product Masters.
And can select versions on PO lines for product masters but not for Products.
We understand that Version is a product dimension and its full potential can be leveraged through product variants.
But trying to understand if we are able to create different versions for Products through Engineering change request and Engineering change orders, why we are not able to select versions on PO Lines for these Products and why it is only limited to product masters.
Shown in the below screenshot are three lines where the last one test_ECO is the Product master and 10000001 & test_123 are products:
Engineering version for test_123:

Let me know if any other info is required to solve this. Any input is highly appreciated.

Hi ssn_w,
Product is uniquely identifiable but product master consist variants.
You can specify product dimension group like color, size, configuration to product master but not for product because product has no variant.
