Hi

Last month my Dynamics SL clients has been expecting a problem with ROI.EXE and the preview of any report. When they open a preview of a report and then they close it, comes an error "ROI.EXE  has stopped working" and then close. When i look into Eventviewer i see two pair of errors

1ST ERROR

"The description for Event ID 4353 from source Crystal Reports cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Either the keycode registry entry does not exist, or the process does not have sufficient permissions to read the keycode.

the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table"

2ND ERROR

Faulting application name: ROI.EXE, version: 7.1.21014.0, time stamp: 0x48f4ba53
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7b96e

Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
Report Id: 128860c2-75af-11e0-bb2c-0024d781db94

I have the following scenario

Server: Windows 2003 SP2 , SQL 2005 SP2, Dynamics SL 7 SP1

Clients: Windows 7 Ent 32 bits, Dynamics SL 7 client install SP1

Any idea how correct this?

Re: Error in ROI and preview reports

I have been experiencing the same 2nd error but it is with any attempt to customize event code, or even labels on a form, on a Window 7 Pro 64-Bit OS.  Does the problem go away when you click the "Exclude Event Code" checkbox in the Administration-Select Customization Level program?  As we have converted all of our workstations from XP Pro 32 bit to Windows 7 Pro 64 bit we know the problem does not occur on the XP Professional OS.  Selecting the "Exclude Event Code" checkbox will result in any customizations you have made not being available until the checkbox is cleared.
