Changing the default organization via Deployment Manager

Hello,

I recently needed to change the default organization on our CRM 4.0 Enterprise install and I had a question about how authentication routes users on login.

What is happening is that when we type in just the IP of the CRM server in the address bar of IE (internal network) we are still directed to the old default organization.  It works properly when supplying the /<orgname> after the IP of course.  I was hoping the default organization change would be reflected in which org loaded when using the IP only, something like http://192.168.0.2.  I set up CRM to use the default web site on IIS so there's no 5555 port.

Is there a setting in a config file somewhere I may need to change or would something like this require a reinstall?

Thanks.

I had similar problem. You can remove and recreate your organization via deployment manager.

     Hi Grzegorz,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I didn't see an option to remove / delete an organization but I did already recreate it in a new org, set that to default and disabled the old messed up one.  All I would get then was an error saying that the organization was disabled.

I tried rebooting IIS and the server itself but to no good.  It still will use the old, disabled org as the default.

Disable the organization, then detach/remove its database from sql and restart iis. You can then import your organization back. After disabling organization you can remove it from deployment manager. So detaching from sql may be unnecessary.

I must be blind.  Didn't even see the delete option in the right hand panel after I disabled it the first time.  That worked for me now.  Thanks for your help Grzegorz.
