Best way to pass an expense on to a customer?

Within QuickBooks and other systems, there is often an easy way to mark something as a "billable expense" or something similar to pass it on to a customer. Is there some way or add in that facilitates that outside of jobs, or is running everything through jobs the only way to handle this?

I have the same question (0)

Hi, as far as I know, this is only associated with the Project(Job) function, there is no other way.
Hopefully other experts can give you better advice.

    Thanks.

I would look at a customisation to handle this from the purchase invoice screen

You can maybe use item charges on the sales documents to pass the expense

In Business central you will need a customization for that if you do not want to use the Jobs module.

You can also use a special order that means you will always register the sales order and then always create a purchase order based on an already existing sales order.

I second NorthW that other than job you need to use Special Order.
