Dear Sir/Madam:

Dynamics GP 2010 will work with SQL Server 2016 Enterprise Edition?
We tried on SQL SERVER 2016 CTP 3.3 for Dynamics GP 2010. And it seems fine.
We would like to confirm by Microsoft Support or Development Team Guy(s).  or Can anyone confirm it?

Thanks

Tauqir

GP 2010 is *not* officially supported on SQL Server 2016 CTP. SQL Server 2016 itself is not officially available for consumers yet. It's not a wise idea to run production GP on a CTP grade SQL Server.

Considering that you had already tried and found that it's working. While it works fine now, the real pain would be when you want to upgrade GP2010 to the latest version.

GP Utilities will fail to run on a non-supported SQL Server.

    Hope that helps.

    Dear Sir:

Right we are getting this Message on running GP 2010 Utilities....

    **Verify SQL Server

*Your current SQL Server is not a supported version.

    Req: Microsoft SQL Server 8.0

    Act: Microsoft SQL Server 2016 (CTP3.3)- 13.0.1000.281

You need to upgrade SQL Server 8.0 before continuing.

The runtime engine (DYNAMICS.EXE) validates the version of SQL Server prior to being able to perform any operation. Since SQL Server 2016 CTP was issued after that version of the runtime engine was compiled, you will not be able to even install it directly.

A workaround -- although I do not suggest you do this for a production environment -- is to install GP 2010 on a supported version of SQL Server, then move the databases over to SQL Server 2016 when done. Keep in mind that things may not work still. Some stored procs may be using statements that may be deprecated on SQL Server 2016 for example, which would render the application unusable.
