Hello,
My US customer is using Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, and has a specific requirement about the item cost calculation principle.
There is formulas usage and routes setup. Here is the case, it's an example:
We have an Item 001050 with Inventory unit - kg
Due to reporting purposes, the customer wants to calculate the cost of such items in pounds (lb)
There is a unit conversion between both units (1 Kg = 2.2046 lb)
When I open the Released products inquiry --> Manage costs from the action pane --> Setup section and click on "Item price", I run the "Calculate Item Cost", then check the results in "View Calculation Details". I want to see in the Overview section the value in "Cost per lot size" column for the particular cost group converted in pounds (lb) not in (kg) as it is now. It's correctly calculated in kg, but I need this value multiplied by the conversion factor (2.2046 in this case)
I want to calculate the cost of such items in this way in general, not just in this inquiry. I am using this particular functionality just to check the results of my attempts to find a solution.
I've already looked into production parameters and route details setup but without success.
Is there any out-of-the-box solution or work around for this case?
Thanks in advance!
