Hi folks,

I need to input a specific tax rate for a specific address in GP so that all POs generated show Sales Tax. Where can I do this?

Thank you so much for your help.

    NHI,

OK, so we are talking Purchase Tax (rather than Sales Tax). I presume you have SOP, POP and Inventory registered. If the checkbox 'Use Shipping Method when Selecting Default Tax Schedule' in your Company Setup Options window is still checked, here's one option that may work for you.

    Use a Delivery Shipping Method

Set Item's Purchase Tax Option to Taxable

Assign a tax schedule to the site that contains the tax detail(s) you want assessed

Assign a tax schedule to the item that includes the specific tax detail(s) you have assigned to the site

Consider setting up tax detail(s) specific to this site for better control.

The system will compare the tax schedule on the site with the tax schedule on the item and compute tax for any details that match.

There are other ways to do this - take a look at this one and let us know if you see problems with your other sites.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi Leslie,

Thank you for your promt reply. We want to have a specific tax rate applied anytime we cut a PO with a specific ship to address listed in GP. Any clue?

    Hi,

Is this a company address, a customer address  or a vendor address?  You have used the term 'sales' tax, yet referenced a PO. Is this sales tax to a customer or what the system calls 'purchases' tax which is something that would be levied against the company that is buying the goods from the vendor. Also, how are you handling freight and miscellaneous amounts?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
