The problem is not with the MO.

Basically when the item was being sold - there was insufficient quantity in stock - and the user chose to allow the stock to go negative.

What you need to do is look at all of the transactions for this item. Add up the movements and satisfy yourself that the movements add up to the negative quantity on hand.

Then process an Inventory transaction to correct the stock quantity back to zero (or the quantity on hand if you do indeed have stock).

But the problem those items are related to MO that are closed , so how can do the adjustment in this case ?

I agree with Ian - and to add, simply changing this in SQL hasn't resolved any issue for you.  If you run reconcile again, you will see that quantity change back.  Your best bet is to look at the details transactions for that item, and determine if an adjustment is needed.

Running Reconcile won't necessarily fix negative quantities. Reconcile recalculates the summary figures based on the underlying transactions.

If you have run Reconcile - and you still see negative quantities - then these are legit. i.e. the sum of the underlying transactions for an item result in a negative quantity on hand.

This is quite acceptable from a system functionality perspective. Within GP you can choose to allow quantities go negative if you wish.

    Ian.
