ABN Lookup button Security Task GP 2015

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All,

I have installed GP 2015 and updated a client from GP 2010. (Australian install)

A user has lost the ABN Lookup button on the Creditor Maintenance Options window.

I cannot locate the Security Task that controls the lookup.

The GP 2015 version of Support Debugging Tool (GP Power Tools) is not available yet to use for checking.

If anyone can please advise me of the Security Task that would be great?

Thanks.

Glad I was able to help.

It was a tricky one to resolve. The GP Power Tools certainly assisted me.

    Hi Gie,

    On Security tasks Card301.

    Select Product Business Activity Statement

    Type Windows

    Series 3rd Party

ABN Look up is the first item.

Hopefully this extra information assists you.

    Hi Geoff,

    Thanks for your response.

Yes GST is enabled. I can see the icon and sa could access to the ABN look window but other users couldn't. This is for GP 2013 (R2).

I'm looking into this task you mentioned in the earlier thread but can't find it.

    Thanks

    Gie

    Hi Gie,

Have you turned on Enable GST for Australia in Setup -->Company--> Company?

    Hi Geoff

Excellent news. GP Power Tools to the rescue.

You can now use the final release as the beta version will expire on 15-Aug-2015.

    Hi David,

Thank you. I followed your suggestion and loaded the GP Power Tools beta, and located the task that was not ticked. It was the ABN Lookup task under Card 301.

    It all works now.

    Thanks for your help.

Good luck with GP Power Tools.

    Hi Geoff

Thanks for the update. That makes more sense.

If they are getting a security privileges error that would be from the window in the Business Activity Statement dictionary. I don't have an Australian install right now to check the actual form name.

Install GP Power Tools (even if just on your own system) and use the Security Profiler to get the details and Security Information to identify the changes needed to the security settings.

The other issue, is to ensure that their firewall does not block the webservice calls, but as a POWERUSER works, I would say that part is fine.

    David
