How to get figures into box 2 of VAT 100?

Hi

Can anyone advise what the correct VAT set up should be to populate figures into box 2 of VAT 100 ('VAT due on acquisitions from other EC Member states)?  This is currently blank.  We are manually calculating 20% of the GOODS only in box 9 (Total value of all acquisitions of goods and related services, excluding any VAT from other EC member states), and adding it to box 2 and also 4 (VAT reclaimed on purchases and other input, including purchase in the EC).

I'm sure other people must have worked out how to capture this systematically, how can AX differentiate between Goods and Services for different VAT treatment?  We do not use Items or have any stock/inventory.  Can you differentiate by using different VAT set up on Procurement categories?

    I think this is the key (found on a blog), but it doesn't explain how to set it up, can anyone help?:

    Reverse VAT

    VAT is not added to purchases from EU suppliers made in the UK.  EU law requires that the purchaser accounts for both sides of the transaction, so the VAT is effectively charged and reclaimed in a single reversing transaction.  The VAT codes are set up so that the combination of a taxable item and an EU supplier causes +20% and -20% to be calculated.

    Hi AXFinance,

    The VAT regulations are different in each country. Therefor also the setup depends on the country. Can you confirm if your question is related to the UK? Or do you need help for another country?
