    Maintenance and Upgrades
    Hello PK-18031452-0,

You're looking to proactively capture information about Microsoft's maintenance and upgrades for your Dynamics 365 Customer Service (CC) environment, beyond just checking the Service Health dashboard. Here's a breakdown of how you can achieve this and some examples of common updates:

    Methods for Receiving Notifications:
    1. Service Health Dashboard (Microsoft 365 Admin Center):
      • This is the primary source of information. You're already aware of it.
      • Proactive Monitoring: Regularly check the dashboard for planned maintenance, incidents, and advisories.
    2. Microsoft 365 Message Center:
      • The Message Center provides notifications about changes and updates to Microsoft 365 services, including Dynamics 365.
      • Email Notifications: You can configure email notifications for Message Center posts.
        • In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to "Health" > "Message center".
        • Click "Preferences" to configure email notifications.

      • Filtering: You can filter messages to focus on Dynamics 365 updates.
    3. Power Platform Admin Center Notifications:
      • The Power Platform admin center also provides notifications related to your Dynamics 365 environments.
      • Email Notifications: Check the settings within the Power Platform admin center for email notification options.
    4. Microsoft Roadmap:
      • The Microsoft Roadmap provides information about upcoming features and updates for Dynamics 365 and other Microsoft products.
      • Stay Informed: Regularly review the roadmap to stay informed about planned changes.
    5. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Release Plans:
      • Microsoft publishes detailed release plans for Dynamics 365, outlining upcoming features and enhancements.
      • Review Release Plans: Review the release plans to understand the scope and timing of updates.

    Examples of Upgrades and Maintenance:
    • Service Updates:
      • Regular updates to the Dynamics 365 platform, including bug fixes, security patches, and performance improvements.
      • These updates are typically rolled out automatically by Microsoft.
    • Feature Updates:
      • New features and enhancements to Dynamics 365 Customer Service, such as improvements to omnichannel capabilities, case management, or knowledge management.
      • These updates are often released as part of major releases (e.g., April release, October release).
    • Security Updates:
      • Critical security patches to address vulnerabilities.
      • These updates are typically deployed promptly by Microsoft.
    • Infrastructure Maintenance:
      • Maintenance of the underlying infrastructure that supports Dynamics 365, such as server upgrades or network maintenance.
      • These activities are generally transparent to users.
    • Environment Updates:
      • Updates to the Dynamics 365 enviroments themselves. For example, updating the version of the enviroment.
    • Omnichannel Updates:
      • Updates to the omnichannel for customer service portion of dynamics 365.

    Key Considerations:
    • Communication: Ensure that your organization has a process for communicating important updates to relevant stakeholders.
    • Testing: Whenever possible, test updates in a sandbox or development environment before applying them to your production environment.
    • Impact Assessment: Assess the potential impact of updates on your business processes and customizations.

By combining these methods, you can effectively capture and manage information about Microsoft's maintenance and upgrades for your Dynamics 365 Customer Service environment.
