MUI : Time Line Activities - Unable to add all

Hi,

In Classic UI the timeline had few other activity types, but in MUI the activity types like letter are missing.

I tried to customize the timeline but the changes are not reflecting.

Is it a know issue?

Should I need to create an internal ticket?

Hi Singaravelu,

I believe this is a by-design behavior because creating a letter or fax wouldn't actually send a letter or a fax, therefore shouldn't be part of Timeline.

The behavior is the same for both UCI and Legacy.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

We are sending letters to clients like MoM / Statements, we need to capture this activity in activities of the record. There is regulatory requirement to send printed statements to clients every 6 months, for which we need to capture the courier no, date, name, etc.

Hi Singaravelu, if the requirement is only to capture the activities then from advance find (for ex) you can filter by all activitities (or only letters) with the field regarding pointing to that specific record.

On the other hand, if you expect to have them in the timeline, that is not possible at the moment.

I'm confused about why letters wouldn't show in the timeline. People use the timeline to record their activity against a specific record. If I create a phone call it doesn't actually make the phone call for me, so why can I not create a letter activity here as well?
