Email error: "Sorry that didn't work" seems specific to 'From Email Body Template'

I think I saw someone else has the same issue. I'm not sure if ours is the exact same, so I wanted to add my details.

This was working about a week ago, but this week when I try to send an Invoice or Quote to any customer we receive the evil blue screen. It's not quite a BSOD, but may as well be.

These are the steps we are taking--

  • Create and post invoice or quote
  • Select Send:

  • On the next screen, where we add the Message content:

Email-error-step-2.PNG

  • Above, if we select "From Email Body Template" we get this:

  • If we select Custom Message, however, and enter our own email content, it sends the email.
  • Additionally, the email will send if we select default setting as below, but it makes us nervous if we can't review everything one last time:

I am going to guess this means that our email template is FUBARd, but it worked last week and nothing changed on our side that I am aware of, so I am hoping it will magically start working again. In the meantime, we have a work around and are able to enter custom messages; it's just a lot more cumbersome and less professional that way.

The other wacky thing is that we edited our invoice email template a while back, didn't love it, and tried to return to the MSFT default, and could never figure out how to do that. So we are actually using our invoice as our email body template now. I thought maybe that was the issue with above, but we are still using the MSFT default template for our Quotes/Estimates and getting the same error.

If anyone knows how to get back to the nifty default MSFT overview email template that had our logo and a summary of the invoice, I'd also love to know how to do that!

So to reiterate:

1. Email error as described above.

2. How do we change our Invoice email template back, I've tried everything on all the videos and articles that I could find.

We have O365 Dynamics / Financials (online)... using Chrome as browser, um.. any other info you need?
