Cannot Install HQ with Windows 10

I have tried installing Microsoft Dynamics RMS HQ on a machine that was just upgraded to Windows 10.  Previously the machine ran Windows 8.1 Pro and HQ worked with no problems.  Now I get the message - Error 1904.Module C:Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\sqldmo.dll failed to register.  HRESULT -2147024714.  COntact your support personnel.

I need help with resolving this urgently

you will have to manually install and configure sql server 2008r2 or newer.

sql server 2000 or 2005 will not work on Windows 10.

Thanks for your suggestion Ed.  I have tried doing this but it still does not work.  I continue to get the same error message.

did you skip the install of SQL server when prompted by the RMS installer?  If not, skip that part, if you have installed sql server manually.

    Ed,

I skipped the installation of SQL Server and had the same result.  So still no luck.

I just got that error when doing a fresh install on Win10.

I first installed SQL Server express 2008r2 SP2, and then got the error when I installed RMS (store ops).

My problem was I forgot to install the backwards compatibility thing (SQLServer2005_BC-x64.msi).

Once i went back and installed that, the RMS install went fine.

Did that resolve your problem? Is RMS now functioning fine in Windows 10?

    Hi,

Install SQL Server Backward Compatibility Tools before installing Headquarters Module. It works fine.
