Creation and Configuration of a new company(B) with the same specs of the company (A)

Good day,

My version is Microsoft Dynamics is GP10.0  SP3

Management is requesting I do the following create a new company =B, based on the information on the knowledge base i was able. The issue is that i called my partner and he informed me that i created it wrong ( they managed the original fase of implementation) so i created it again but now he is informing me that i also have to configure the company.

 I can only assume that it has to be the same way company A was configured. ( I really am not sure). The other issues i'm worried about is that i have to then import the GL accounts ( 12 characters in account) using the integration manager ( i found some documentation to use it) but first i have configure the company ( my partner told me)

 Can someone please advice

    Mayra,

    For the GL Chart of Accounts I was able to Export the Company A Chart of Account using SmartList and then import back into Company B. We were also able to add a change to the account format structure (adding a zero) giving addition room for our account by using Excel.

     Thank you for your marvelous tip, I haven't officially used it but I assume it will work out great.

    Just wanted to ask you a quick question, before you export/import the GL account from A to B, when you created B what steps did you follow afterwards?

    Just a side note here. the 'Rapid' tools do not work with a 64-bit machine.

     Thank you very much, you are correct.It didn't work.

     

    I'm trying to read up on the integration manager to see if i can get this finally sorted it.

    Hi Mayra.

    You want to check out the automated solutions on the Customersource site.

    Under System Manager you will see a tool that is offered to copy company setting from one company to another.

    Copy Company Setup

    Copies all the setup information from one company to another in SQL. You can choose between what module information to send over to the new company. *Note: Due to the potential amount of time this operation takes to complete, it is advised to run this solution during off peak hours.

    Good day Sagi88,

     I'm currently testing this available option you provided (thank you very much ) and i got an error message " Process unable to complete the movement of Project Accounting data. Make sure Project Accounting is loaded. An unspecified error occurred while updating SQL data. If this persists, please contact Technical Support."

     Has this ever occurred to you before, could you please advice if so how you solved it.

    Thank you so much you have no idea how happy i am today this actually worked as expected.

     Thank you also for including the link because i wasn't able to download it through customer source it doesn't give access.

     But the good news about the whole story is no more headaches with this issue.
