Item base cost price

Posted on by

When we run the Check cost prices under the closing and adjustment function, our results contain many items with this message "Deviation cannot be calculated as the unit cost price is zero."  We found in many of the cases the "price" under the manage costs section is blank even though we have  the "latest cost price" ticked.

When is the item base cost price (under field price on the tab manage cost) in the Product Item Management update? or what transactions updates this field?  We are new to the closing function and want to better understand the results.

Thank you,

    Dear,

If you are using Standard costing algorithm then you need to have a record created under cost price.

What is the costing type you are using?

    Thank you,

    Hi Anilda,

Is an item cost price setup in your released products form for the different products that you have?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi,

Can you double check that also a price is entered here?

Can you also share the exact message that you receive, when you receive it and in which form?

    Many thanks and best regards,

That is the problem we encounter, price does not appear in the price field even with the
tick mark in the latest price.    One notice it seems the last transaction type on the items w/o a cost price are inventory transfers.   I wonder if it is normal for a price not to appear when the last transaction is an inventory transfer.

The report is under the inventory management--> inventory close and adjustment-->Close Procedure-->2. check cost price

The error is " Deviation cannot be calculated as the unit cost price is zero." I think it is a setting issue.

Appreciate your help.  I am not able to paste a pic at the moment.

    Hi anilda1214,

Can you open your costing versions and check the prices that are recorded there?

Can you see the latest cost prices, which should automatically be recorded?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
