DImension Code mandatory - Sales Shipment

Hello,

I set up Dimension code mandatory to G/L account which is used in selling process.

Now when I'm performing a Sales Order I want to post first only sales shipment, but the system warns me, that I need to define Dimension Value Code. But why? Posted Sales Shipment doesnt generate any entries on G/L accounts.

I'm curious if I should consider this as a bug or not. Anyone has any idea how to logically explain it?

    Hi

    As far as I know shipment only impact Interim finish good / direct material (it post to those accounts). Have you make any of these g/l mandatory? some company uses same g/l for both interim and final account please check on that.

    Sales shipment in some cases post expected cost of sold goods.

    That is the reason behind this.

    So you should make sure your dimensions are correct before you start posting on a sales order because they can not be changed after you have started posting.
