How to Add Field Level Security?

I created a Field Level Security profile and added the users I want access to a field.  I then went into the field and enabled Field Security on it.

However I can't see where to add the profile to the field?

You don't actually add the profile to the field.  Once you enable field level security on the field, you go to the field level security profile and you will see the field in the profile so you can make adjustments to the field behavior and add/remove users and teams.

RE: How to Add Field Level Security?

    Hi,

    In brief,

When you enable a field for Field level security (Customize the system->{Entity}->Fields->{Field}), you go to the field level security profile (Settings->Security->Field level security profiles).

After you create the FLS profile, you can add users and you can provide the read, update & create (RUC) privilege.

You can add users to this profile.

The user privileges for a field will be defined by what is defined in the profile for that field.

    Hope it makes it clear.

    Reference: technet.microsoft.com/.../dn832104.aspx

    To add:

A user can be a part of many profiles, and these profiles can have different values for the RUC privilege for the field. The union of the RUCs privileges defined in these profiles (that the user is part of) is going to decide the user's RUC privilege on that field.
