Updating Financial Dimension in value model by fixed asset

Dear Experts,

I am trying to update Financial Dimensions in AssetBook table using Excel Add-ins.

the following error appears:

"generic document could not be created. Cannot create a record in value model by fixed asset (Asset book)"

Is there any other way to update Financial dimension of these Fixed Assets?

Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Elie

    HI Elie,

Have you also tried Data Import Export Framework? You used it in your tags, but you are not mentioning it in your question.

Yes i used data import export framework to import new assets without Financial Dimensions using Assettable entity. But i didn't find assetbook entity.

Kindly advise which entity can i use in data import export framework to do my job.

    Regards,

    Elie

    Hi Elie,

The "Fixed asset" entity in AX 2012 has fields for several Asset related tables. So both AssetTable and AssetBook are supported. The default dimensions should be supported in my opinion. However it seems like the staging table is missing the DefaultDimensionStr field. At least in my (older) environment. So that is why you cannot use it with DIXF. If you don't have a field for the DefaultDimension in the DMFAssetTable, it would be possible to add it with a customization. Then also check if coding is required to link the staging to the target.
