Any User manual about Microsoft fictional company Contoso ?

Hi Team,

Its very basic question, For explaining different modules in ax and there functioning microsoft has taken an example of fictional company contoso. I just though to search if there is any user manual about contoso group of companies just to understand whats the business and then i will look in ax to map business requirements.

Its very strange there is no document about Contoso. While searching i got one blog where i didnt find much details but very high level documentation.

Is there any source where i can get contoso Distribution and trade related business manaul so that i can map this in ax to understand how business requirements are fulfilled in ax.

Hi,

Have you already searched on partner source? In the section where you can download the demo tools there are a couple of documents available that explain the company structure, purpose of each legal entity, etc.

Thanks for your response. yes I searched in partner source but couldn't find out any document which explain about contoso company. I am more interested in understanding contoso business and then i will check in ax how it's get implemented there. I am expecting its not gonna be a simple business example as it is covering almost functionality of ERP product AX but i am sure its should be documented somewhere by microsoft regarding different business scenarios and how they achieved in ax.

Currently i am focusing on Distribution and trade related business scenarios.

You will get a 53 pages document that explains the contoso Company.

Please also seach check this link mbs.microsoft.com/.../AX2012DemoToolsMaterials

and scroll down to the very bottom where you can find some additional Information on the contoso data.

Thanks Ludwig. I think i got it what i was looking for. It will give good idea about Company structure and business. Although its little bit challenging by looking things in Ax and then trying to map this with actual business scenario. But that's the way of learning so fine with it.
