Hi,
What is the use of button 'Transfer' in General journal entry.
Hi Billur,
Thanks for replying.
I could not able to find any difference in debit and credit amount while creating lines with transfer button set to yes and no. Could you please help me to understand where am i missing?
I tried to create two entries, one with transfer and one without transfer, but both are showing the same results.
1.) Creating one entry without transfer button set to No.
2. Creating entry with Transfer button set to yes.
Both voucher giving same debit credit amount.
Hi,
As you know when you post debit it is positive and credit it is displayed as negative.
But if you fill debit on the line and set transfer as "Yes" then debit will be shown as credit as positive value.
But if you fill credit on the line and set transfer as "Yes" then credit will be shown as debit as negative value.
When we use this?
For example you post an expense account as debit and you made a mistake and want to correct this value.
When you post a credit, then this value will be shown as debit and credit in trial balance and total will be zero.
But your balance of debit and credit will rise.
If you use transfer;
Debit balance will be zero.
This is for reporting purposes.
That one is post and transfer which helps to create new batch for lines with error. This one i could not able to understand.
As I remember this flag use to transfer the journal line into a new journal batch if there are any validation errors while posting.
