Financial dimension in project item journal

Hi,

I created a project item journal under Project management and accounting>>Projects>>All projects>>Project in the action pane>>Journals>>Item.

When posting the project item journal, the system is asking for financial dimensions for an item.

Our setup is not to assign a default financial dimension for an item but there is a default financial dimension for a project.

I am assuming that the system will get the financial dimension assigned to project instead of the financial dimension assigned to an item.

Is this by design?  I'm using D365 for Finance and SCM.

    Hi marypeace,

    Financial dimension values on project item journal can be fetched from project and item level. For example, Once you add dimension values on project, they will be populated on journal line.

    If the financial dimension value on project and item is not them same, e.g for department, the value will be fetched from project.

    It's weird because yesterday I'm posting the project item journal and it is asking for financial dimension although there is a default financial dimension for a project.  But now when I try to post, I can post it :)
