Problems with Quick Create form in Leads

Posted on by 30

I have a couple users who receive the "Access Denied" message when they try to create a lead using the quick create form in the Lead entity. Interestingly, another user with the same security settings doesn't have a problem creating a new lead using the quick create form. I can't figure out what may be wrong with the users who can't create a lead. Any ideas?

I temporarily upgraded the two users to the next access level and that solved the problem. However, the solution in the long run is to re-work the security roles.

    Hi,

Please try to provide any other security role and try again. Meanwhile you can ask them to clear browser cache.

Is there any code written any background which is stopping them to create lead?

This is what they have. Alok Singh, thank you for your screenshot. I know opening up this much would solve the problem easily, but we need to keep restricted rights. Plus, the current access shouldn't cause an "Access Denied" error.

The security role permissions for "Create" are at business unit level. As I said, I am puzzled that a user with exactly the same security role can create a lead, while these two other users can't (they are in the same business unit).

    Hi,

It seems users do not have Create permission. Can you please validate the privileges and access level of lead of security roles assigned to these users?

Ideally they should have create permission .

You can check under Core record tab of security role

Actually, no. They can't create a lead using the lead main form either.

One of the causes for access denied could be to do with not having permission to Append or Append To or only having permission at user level.

It would be easy to identityfy the exact permission error if you could download the log file and share the details and also a bit more information on how the seucrity role permissions are granted - Is it at user level or Business Unit Level or Org level

    Hi ,

Are those users able to create  lead using lead main form?
