Sending shipping notes in the background?

Hi!

I have a scenario where we post the sales shipments from the Inventory pick. We print the shipping note and add on the goods.

We have some customers that also want the shipping note by e-mail when we send. I know the option to both print and send exist, but it will be hard to remember which customers wants this.

Is there a way to do this automatically, som setting on the customer?

I will remember from the early testing that e-mails was sent in the background without me noticing at first. But now I do not remember what setting changed that.

Define email scenarios for different business processes. For example, you can create a scenario specifically for sending shipping notes.

I think you can use Document Sending Profiles to achieve this. You can create two profiles: one for customers who prefer emails and another for those who don't, and assign the profiles to each customer on the customer card. Each time you click "Post and Send," the profiles will automatically determine whether the customer should receive an email or not, based on their assigned document sending profile. Based on the requirements, I believe you have two options:

Document Sending Profile: This can be useful but may require some customization.

Email Outbox Setup: Configure it to send all shipping emails triggered once the documents are posted. I’m not sure how your tracking email configuration is set up, but you might need to make some adjustments to include those details.

The problem with Document Sending Profile is that it is default for all sales document. All out customers want the invoice on e-mail and we have consider that the most importatnt document. So all customers is set to E-mail only. Every time we post a shipment we have to change in the dialog box.

Is there a way to have different scenarios for different documents without customization?

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no simple way to do this, it can only be done by customization.
Hopefully other experts can give you better advice.

Based on the new information that invoices require different emailing requirements compared to shipments, document sending profiles won’t work out of the box. As far as I know, only customization will address this.
