New imported customised report not showing in security windows GP9

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I know GP9 is of support, but we are in a position where we have to keep with it for the moment.

I have imported a new customised report - based on the export of an existing one. Both reports appear in the Report Writer windows for customised reports and both can be opened and edited. The new report, however, does not show up in the security settings for me to allocate it to a user class.

Export of the old report and import of the new one were both completed using the Customisation Maintenance screen.

It should be noted that in the Report Writer screen, Report Name and Series are red and editable rather than greyed out and read only. This appears to be the only difference between the newly imported report and other existing customised reports.

    Sorted.

By exporting an existing report, then importing it with the required changes it was actually flagged as a Custom Report rather than a Modified report as was the one exported. Just needed to scroll down the list of Types to the second last one - Custom Reports - and was able to set the required security.
