Email tracked using Dynamics CRM App for outlook sometime set as draft status

Hi, 

We are configured Dynamics CRM App for outlook(9.0) for tracking the eamils and activities in Dynamics 365(9.1).

All tracked emails auto set in Drafts status sometimes. can somebody please suggest setting to manually set the status or any other workaround to avoid auto set draft?

Please help!

    Hi Sumit,

    Here's what you can do

    1. Create a background workflow which runs on Create of Email

    2. Check if the Status == Draft

    3. Change Status == Completed (or any other suitable status)
    4118.emailStatus.png

    It worked for me. Hope this works for you too.

    Thanks for your answer.

    Actually I'm looking for this only for the emails which are tracked from Dynamics App for outlook not for all.

    First of all I want understand whether it's an issue in the product or this is the standard behavior.

    Hi,

    It looks like an issue with v9 D365 FO.

    You can use Tracking Token field in Email entity to filter the emails are tracked and not all.

    So you criteria in the workflow will be -

    "If Email:Status Reason equals [Draft] AND Email:Tracking Token contains data"

    Emails which are tracked using D365 For Outlook have Tracking Token populated.

    But I'm not looking the workaround here.

    Basically, I want to know the root cause that why some email activities tracked using D365 FO are in DRAFT Status.

    This looks like a funtionality that was fixed. Are you using the Outlook Web App or the Outlook desktop app? I just came across with this post - docs.microsoft.com/.../whats-new

    It looks like an MS issue and you might need to check with Microsoft Support for the same.
