Using Item templates

Hello,

I have a problem that even if I have Inventory unit filled in Item, from where I am making the shared template, all setup fields are correctly copied in the time of new item creation, instead of Inventory unit which is always empty.

Should I apply some additional setup for it to appear in new Item too?

There's an Inventory management parameter default Unit of measure - have you left this blank? (but even if you had, I'd still expect the UOM to be picked up from the template).

    Hi,

can you specify where exactly default UOM is located?

    Hi.

There should not be any setup for this. Units of measure are shared across legal entities so that should not be the issue either. Does that behaviour apply to all units of measure or just a specific one?

    Hi,

    this applies to all units

Also what I noticed is that if I go to Home -> Setup -> Record templates and I click Edit to my template I see there the empty unit field. If I change it to Pc and save and close and then reopen it with Edit the field is again empty

Can you check if there is a record in InventItemPrice table with blank value for the ItemID field, for the company you're logged in? If there is, try deleting it and try saving the template.

Yes, I see 2 records there with empty ItemId fields. Should I delete them both?

When I try to delete it using "alt + f9" it gives error "Function InventItemPrice.Delete has been incorrectly called"

    Hi Joni,

If you create a new item (without using a template) in a test system, and then before creating any inventory transactions for that item, create a template from the new item, does the template have the inventory unit filled in?

    Hi Guy,

I tried it but it is also without inventory unit.

I deleted those 2 lines from InventItemPrice table after and now I can see unit filled, but this little bit strange.

What can be a reason that I have records with empty ItemId in InventItemPrice table?
